This week, seven criminals from Merseyside faced justice for their serious crimes, including violence and abuse, leaving a mark on the community.
One of the most shocking cases involved Daniel Halliwell, who was showing off his Ferrari at crazy speeds before crashing into a car with a mother and her newborn. That poor baby is going to need lifelong care after suffering a serious brain injury. Halliwell got 32 months for his reckless actions.
Then there were Mason Hoey and David McDonald, two 17-year-olds who were caught running from the police with a sawn-off shotgun. They were just trying to escape when the cops found the gun hidden in a wheelie bin. They both ended up with some hefty sentences—three and four years, respectively.
And let’s not forget about Steven Huxley, who was supposed to protect kids but instead abused them. He got 23 years for his horrific crimes, which included collecting indecent images.
Roy Croft, another piece of work, terrorized his girlfriend and caused a ton of damage after their breakup. He was sentenced to 30 months for his abusive behavior.
Craig Reilly had a loaded gun found in a garden, which a nine-year-old boy picked up. Reilly, a drug dealer, got over seven years for that mess.
Lastly, Axel Rudakubana was sentenced to life for the brutal murders of three little girls during a dance class. He won’t be seeing the outside world for a long time, with a minimum of 52 years before he can even think about parole.
It’s a tough reminder of the darker side of life, but justice is being served in these cases.
