The Bagel Project opened a new shop on Carrington Street, near Nottingham Railway Station.

They have a breakfast deal for commuters: a bagel and drink for £6.50 before 10:30 AM. You can pick two fillings, like egg or bacon.

The shop first opened in Hockley in May 2023, and they also have a shop in Sherwood. Each shop attracts different customers.

The manager, Molly Tyrrell, says that Hockley sees students, while Sherwood gets families. She expects office workers at the Carrington Street location, noting that the train station is close by.

The breakfast deal should be quick for commuters, and they might open earlier at 7:30 AM. The menu mirrors the Hockley shop, with the smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel being a favorite. The Reuben and salt beef bagels are also popular.

The all-day breakfast bagel, with sausage, bacon, egg, and tomato sauce, sells well too. Students especially love it after a hangover.

They offer both house bagels and specialty bagels, including a honey sriracha chicken special and a Mr. Porkie with pork belly. Vegan options are also available. The available bagels are plain, poppy seed, sesame, and “everything,” all made fresh at the Sherwood bakery.

Tom Benjamin, the director, still bakes sometimes and also managed the shop’s makeover. They also sell sweet treats like red velvet and cinnamon buns, perfect for a quick snack.

The shop features brick walls and arched windows, with seating for 24 people. There are tables, chairs, and stools for customers to relax. Molly wants a relaxed vibe for the new shop, which gets lovely morning sun, and locals already support it.

The first day went well, allowing the new staff to learn the ropes as people enjoyed the space and chatted. Outpost, a local company, supplies the coffee and will open the Outpost School of Coffee downstairs.

James Daykin from Outpost wants to share their coffee experience. He aims to teach home baristas, and professionals can also get certifications there. The Carrington Street shop is currently open daily from 9 AM to 6 PM.
