A 16-year-old girl was assaulted in Burton, prompting police to seek witnesses for their investigation
Burton: A 16-year-old girl was attacked in an alleyway. She was walking in Market Place when two men approached her and led her to a spot near the Royal Oak pub. Sadly, one of them raped her.
Right now, the girl is getting support from specialist officers. The police are really hoping that anyone who saw anything will come forward to help with their investigation.
A police spokesperson mentioned that detectives have been working non-stop since they got the report at 12:50 AM on New Year’s Day. They’re doing everything they can to gather information and support the victim.
Detective Inspector Shelley Burns from the child protection team assured the community that they’re putting in serious effort to solve this case. They want to talk to anyone who might have seen what happened, especially those who were in the Royal Oak pub at the time.
