A 16-year-old has been convicted of attempted murder after a brutal attack left another teen seriously hurt in a bush
Holbeach: So, there’s this wild story about a 16-year-old who got found guilty of attempted murder. It all went down when a teenager was discovered in a bush, badly hurt.
The incident happened at the grounds of a primary school on July 28, 2024. The victim was also 16 and had been hanging out with friends, drinking a bit too much.
After the victim passed out, the defendant left to take someone home. But he came back, chatting on the phone and saying he wanted to kill the unconscious kid. Yikes!
Someone on the phone got worried and called the police, giving them a heads-up about what was happening. When the cops showed up, they found the victim with serious cuts from a broken bottle.
He had injuries to his neck and abdomen, plus a messed-up eye. Paramedics were quick to help, but it was a scary scene.
The police arrested the suspect at home, and he claimed he had no clue what went down. He seemed really confused about the whole thing.
During the trial, the jury saw a video call where the defendant was holding that broken bottle and threatening the victim. It took them less than three hours to find him guilty after six days of trial.
He’s set to be back in court on March 3 for sentencing, and the judge made it clear that he’s going to jail. The only question is how long he’ll be locked up.
