An 18-year-old has been arrested following a tragic hit-and-run that left a woman dead in Paisley on New Year’s Eve
Paisley: So, there was this really sad incident on New Year’s Eve. An 18-year-old guy got arrested after a woman lost her life in a hit-and-run.
The woman, Elizabeth Kennedy, who was 70, was hit by a car on Barrhead Road around 7 PM. It was a shocking scene.
Emergency services rushed in, but sadly, she was pronounced dead right there. The police were on the hunt for the driver who took off.
Then, just a few days later, they caught a guy, but he was released while they keep investigating. It’s just heartbreaking.
Detective Inspector Jan MacColl shared that their thoughts are with Elizabeth’s family and friends during this tough time. They’re doing their best to support them.
They’re also asking anyone who saw the crash or a white car in the area to come forward. If anyone has dashcam footage, they really want to hear from you.
