A 16-year-old has been charged after attacking police officers in Carmarthen
Carmarthen: So, there was this wild incident in the town centre where a 16-year-old got into a scuffle with police. It all went down on June 9, and it was pretty intense.
The kid, who can’t be named because they’re underage, ended up in Llanelli Magistrates’ Court facing some serious charges. They were accused of attacking both a male and a female officer on Lammas Street.
On top of that, they also allegedly assaulted a police community support officer. Not cool, right? When they showed up in court, they pleaded guilty to two counts of assaulting emergency workers and one count of common assault.
In the end, the judge gave them a six-month referral order, which was bumped up from four months since it involved police officers. They didn’t have to pay any costs or compensation because, well, they’re a minor and don’t have much money. But they do have to cough up a £26 surcharge.
