London: Taylor Swift’s album, The Tortured Poets Department, is still rocking the UK charts. It’s been number one for 10 weeks now, which is pretty impressive, especially since it coincides with her 35th birthday. This makes her the first international solo artist to hold the top spot for that long in almost 25 years. The last one to do it was Shania Twain back in the late ’90s.

Swift recently snagged a bunch of awards at the Billboard Music Awards, calling it the “nicest early birthday present.” She took home 10 awards, including top artist and top Billboard 200 album for her latest release. Talk about a birthday win!

Earlier this month, she wrapped up her global Eras Tour, hitting major cities like Paris, Los Angeles, and London. She even played eight shows at Wembley Stadium. Plus, she was named Time Magazine’s person of the year for 2023 and kept her title as Spotify’s most-played artist for the second year in a row, racking up over 26.6 billion streams. Wow!

Since its release in April, The Tortured Poets Department has broken records, making Swift the first artist to have 12 number one albums in the UK this century. In less than 12 years, she’s hit that milestone, which took The Beatles 14 years to achieve. Pretty wild, right?

As for the rest of the UK albums chart, Sabrina Carpenter’s Short N’ Sweet is holding strong at number two, while Michael Buble’s Christmas is climbing to number three. Blackpink’s Rose just debuted at number four with her album Rosie, and Carpenter’s holiday EP Fruitcake is at number five after her Netflix special.

On the singles chart, Wham!’s Last Christmas is back at number one, 40 years after its release. Gracie Abrams’ That’s So True is in second place, followed by Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You, Apt by Rose and Bruno Mars, and Brenda Lee’s Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree. It’s definitely a festive time!
