Tamzin Outhwaite opens up about her past with Tom Ellis and her new journey on Strictly Come Dancing
London: Tamzin Outhwaite, known for her role in EastEnders, is set to dazzle on the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special this December 25. At 54, she’s paired with pro dancer Nikita Kuzmin for the festive show.
She became a household name thanks to her character’s wild love life on the soap, where she had ups and downs with several iconic characters. Off-screen, she fell for Welsh actor Tom Ellis, who played Doctor Oliver Cousins in EastEnders before hitting it big in the US with Lucifer.
They met through actor James McAvoy and tied the knot in 2006, welcoming two daughters, Marnie and Florence. Sadly, their marriage ended in 2014 after Tom admitted to a one-night stand, but Tamzin hinted there was more to the story than just that slip-up.
Last year, she shared a now-deleted post reflecting on their split, mentioning ongoing revelations about Tom’s past infidelities but expressing gratitude for her current happiness. After their divorce, she dated Tom Child, who was 20 years younger, but they recently parted ways.
In a recent chat, Tamzin said she’s feeling great being single and busy with life. She loves the freedom it brings and feels content. She’s finally taking the plunge to join Strictly, saying she feels “older and braver” now, something she didn’t feel ready for in her younger years.
After EastEnders, she took on various roles in shows like The Fixer and New Tricks. She even competed in The Masked Dancer, finishing fourth. Recently, she starred in Channel 5’s drama, The Wives, and made a guest appearance in Death in Paradise.
