St Helens: A suspect has been named after a burglary at a pensioner’s home. The incident happened around 1am on Saturday, February 1. The woman, in her 70s, was inside when the break-in occurred.

The intruder stole cash and a handbag. Thankfully, the woman was not hurt, but she felt distressed. Police have charged Daniel Carmody, 30, with burglary and other offenses.

Carmody is set to appear in Wirral Magistrates’ Court on Monday, February 3. Detective Inspector Steve Byrom emphasized the serious impact of burglary on victims and the police’s commitment to reducing such crimes.

He urged anyone with information about burglaries or stolen goods to come forward. The police are working closely with communities to tackle these issues effectively.
