A Surrey man has been sentenced for using a fake profile to exploit teenage boys online
Surrey: A man named Ryan Stone got himself into serious trouble. He created a fake profile pretending to be a young woman named Isabella. His goal? To lure teenage boys into sending him explicit videos.
Stone, who was just 18 at the time, targeted boys aged 11 to 17. He convinced them to film themselves and send the videos to him. It’s pretty disturbing, right? Thankfully, Surrey Police caught wind of his actions thanks to tips from the National Crime Agency.
After an investigation, they charged him with 15 different offenses. These included serious charges like inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. Now, at 21, he’s been sentenced to three years in prison. The court made it clear that this kind of behavior won’t be tolerated.
Detective Constable Connor Leney from the police shared some important advice. He emphasized the need for parents to talk to their kids about online safety. He pointed out that fake profiles often have no pictures or ask for sexual images. If your child seems secretive about their phone, that’s a red flag.
