Seventeen schools sent students. The Bromley Borough Rotary Youth Awards took place, and thirty-six young people received recognition for their significant contributions to the community.

The event was held at The Langley Performing Arts Centre. Families, Rotarians, and local officials attended. Bromley’s Mayor, Dr. David Barrington-Jefferys, presented the awards, with winners receiving certificates, vouchers, and Bromley Football Club tickets.

Some winners were young carers, tending to relatives with medical issues. Others worked diligently in care homes, while many raised money for charities, benefiting organizations like Cancer Research and Save the Children.

Several pupils helped construct a school in Tanzania, showcasing their global impact. Furthermore, several winners held positions on the Bromley Youth Council, and some even established their own charities.

One student organized a charity run from Paris to St Andrews, successfully raising £24,000. Another winner dedicates their time to helping the homeless by providing them with hot meals.

Several awardees volunteer at schools that serve children with complex needs. One student volunteered at Bethlem Hospital, while another supports autistic children.

The awards were initiated ten years ago, with initial participation from only four schools. This year, the organizers received nominations from twenty schools, indicating a considerable expansion in reach.
