Wales faces a serious amber weather warning as Storm Éowyn brings dangerous winds and potential power cuts this Friday
Conwy: So, Storm Éowyn is really making a name for itself! The Met Office has bumped up the weather warning to amber, which means we should all be on high alert. This storm is no joke, and it’s expected to hit hard on Friday.
From 6 am to 9 pm, most of north Wales will feel the brunt of those strong winds. We’re talking gusts that could reach up to 80 mph in some spots! That’s enough to cause some serious damage and even power cuts.
And it’s not just the amber warning; there are yellow warnings for wind covering the whole of Wales. So, if you’re out and about, be careful! The rain is also coming in, with heavy downpours expected overnight. We could see some flooding in low-lying areas.
Plus, parts of England and Scotland are bracing for snow and ice later on Friday. It’s going to be a wild day, so make sure you’re prepared. Stay safe out there!
