This storm is expected to roll in around 8 am on Friday and stick around until about 3 pm. They’re saying we could see winds of 80-90 mph pretty much everywhere, and even 100 mph in some coastal spots. That’s a recipe for chaos!
People are being told to brace for flying debris, which sounds pretty scary. We might see fallen trees blocking roads, roofs getting blown off buildings, and power lines down. Plus, transport could be a mess with delays and cancellations everywhere.
The Met Office has different warning levels. A yellow warning is just a heads-up that things might get a bit tricky. An amber warning means you should think about changing your plans. But a red warning? That’s serious business, folks. It means life could be at risk.
This red alert will be in place until 3 pm on Friday. The weather is about to take a wild turn, with heavy rain and strong winds hitting the UK, thanks to a powerful jet stream pushing low pressure our way.

Forecasters are saying the worst winds will hit the north of England and parts of Wales, with gusts up to 90 mph in exposed areas. Inland, we’re looking at 60-70 mph. Definitely not a day for a leisurely drive!

Storm Eowyn is set to cross Northern Ireland early Friday morning and then move northeast across Scotland. National Highways is warning drivers in the North West and Yorkshire to prepare for disruptions.
If you’re planning to travel, it might be best to stick to main roads. And for those taking the train, LNER has warned there won’t be any trains north of Newcastle after 11 am on Friday. So, plan ahead!
There’s also a yellow rain warning for parts of Wales and southwest England, with potential flooding in the forecast. By Saturday, the winds should calm down for most, but Scotland will still feel the effects.
