Scotland braces for Storm Éowyn as 90mph winds are set to disrupt life across all regions this weekend. Stay safe and prepared!
West Dunbartonshire: The Met Office has issued yellow weather warnings for Scotland as Storm Éowyn approaches. This storm is the fifth of the season and is expected to bring strong winds and heavy rain.
On Friday, winds could reach up to 90mph, especially in central Scotland and Northern Ireland. Meteorologist Clare Nasir mentioned that the winds will be fierce, with some areas facing heavy rain and even snow before it clears up.
People are being warned to stay alert due to the risk of flying debris and potential damage to homes. The storm is expected to hit the UK around 8am on Friday, starting with the north Wales coastline.
Areas like East Lothian will also experience strong gales throughout Friday. The Met Office has cautioned that travel disruptions are likely, affecting roads, rail, and air services.
As the storm moves northeast, gusts could still be strong into Saturday morning, with warnings extending until 3 p.m. on Saturday. So, if you’re in the affected areas, keep an eye on the weather and stay safe!
