The headteacher made the tough call to close the school on Monday, December 9, 2024. They posted on Facebook that online learning would kick in, and teachers would send out links through Google Classroom. It’s a bummer, but safety first, right?

On Saturday, they noticed a tree had fallen on the footpath next to the school, and it broke some electrical cables that were touching the fence. Thankfully, the National Grid checked it out and confirmed the fence wasn’t live. They’re still working on repairs, but power should be back by 6 PM today. The winds are still pretty wild, so they’re advising everyone to steer clear until things calm down.

They’re hoping to reopen on Tuesday, December 10, but we’ll have to wait for updates. Meanwhile, in another part of Wales, kids at Cylch Meithrin Cei Newydd can’t go to nursery either. The storm ripped the roof right off! Parents are already raising funds for repairs, and they’ve collected over £3,000. It’s a tough time for everyone!
