Wales faces major travel disruptions as Storm Darragh leads to road closures and train cancellations, leaving thousands without power on Sunday.
Cardiff: Storm Darragh really hit Wales hard on Sunday, closing down roads and cancelling trains left and right. It’s been a wild ride, and even though the worst is over, the aftermath is still causing chaos.
The Met Office has put out a yellow weather warning, saying strong winds are still blowing through the area. They expect gusts to reach 45 mph in some places, and even higher along the coast. So, if you were thinking about heading out, it might be best to stay put.
Many roads are still blocked, and public transport is a mess. Thousands of homes are without power, and emergency services have been super busy dealing with fallen trees and other storm-related issues. Cardiff Council reported over 300 call-outs just from this storm!
Traveling by train? Forget it! Services across South and North Wales are either cancelled or delayed. Transport for Wales is advising everyone to avoid travel today if they can. They’re working hard to get things back to normal, but it’s going to take some time.
So, if you’re in Wales, hang tight and stay safe. The storm may be moving on, but its effects are still very much felt.
