Stoke-on-Trent: Gladstone Pottery Museum is back in action earlier than expected! They opened their doors on January 2 to kick off the celebrations for the city’s centenary and the museum’s 50th birthday.

Originally, the museum was set to stay closed until March, except for special events. But with the excitement of The Great Pottery Throw Down returning to TV on January 5, they decided to welcome visitors sooner.

Since its opening in 1975, Gladstone Pottery Museum has become a beloved spot for locals and tourists alike. Jane Ashworth, the city council leader, called it a true gem of Stoke-on-Trent’s cultural scene.

She mentioned that the museum draws in about 3,000 visitors each month, and this early opening is a great way to celebrate both the city’s and the museum’s milestones. If you haven’t checked it out yet, 2025 is the perfect time to visit and see what all the fuss is about!
