Stoke-on-Trent: Exciting news! A terraced house on Regina Street is being transformed into a residential care home for two kids aged five to 17. The place is set to be vacated in the next six months, thanks to a proposal from ABC Properties.

The plan is pretty straightforward. Two trained carers will look after the kids around the clock. During the day, there will be two carers, and one will stay overnight. It’s all about creating a homey vibe, so the kids will have their own rooms and access to common areas just like any family would.

They’ll be registered with Ofsted, but it won’t be a nursing home. Instead, the kids will get to visit healthcare professionals as needed, just like any normal family would do. And while they usually go out with their carers, there might be a few home visits each year if absolutely necessary.

The application for this change has been given the green light, so it looks like this new chapter is on its way!
