Staffordshire: Steve Edge is a familiar face in comedy. He’s best known for his role as Billy Dawson in Benidorm. But there’s so much more to him.

He kicked off his TV career back in 2000 with That Peter Kay Thing. Fans loved him in Phoenix Nights, where he played Alan again. It’s clear he’s got range.

Steve has popped up in shows like Cold Feet and Peep Show, and he even revisited his character in Max & Paddy’s Road to Nowhere. He’s had some memorable roles, too, like Doddsy in Mike Bassett: Manager.

His talent doesn’t stop there. He’s shown off his impersonation skills in Star Stories, and he’s been in various other series, including Starlings and All at Sea.

Recently, he’s back on our screens in the Christmas special of Madame Blanc Mysteries. He plays Dom Hayes, the love interest of Jean, the main character.

The holiday special is set in a lively Christmas market. It starts with a festive vibe, but things take a dark turn when a body is discovered. Jean’s on the case, and it looks like there’s more to the story than meets the eye.

On a personal note, Steve is keeping things low-key these days. He’s married to a mystery woman since 2014 and prefers to keep his private life private.

He’s also close with comedian Jason Manford. They’ve worked together on a podcast and other projects, and Jason was even his best man. Steve is the godfather to Jason’s twin girls.

Don’t miss the Madame Blanc Mysteries Christmas special airing on Christmas Eve at 9.15pm on Channel 5!
