Hollywood star Stanley Tucci will curate a special menu for King Charles’ New Year celebration at Highgrove House, focusing on Anglo-Italian cuisine
Gloucestershire: Just after the UK welcomes the New Year, King Charles will host his annual celebration at Highgrove House. This year, he’s inviting a bit of Hollywood magic with Stanley Tucci joining the festivities.
Stanley, known for his roles in Hunger Games and The Devil Wears Prada, has been asked to whip up a special menu. It’s all about celebrating Anglo-Italian relations, and the request came straight from the King.
In a chat with The Telegraph, Stanley shared, “I won’t be cooking in the kitchen, but the Italian ambassador reached out to me. He said, ‘Charles would like you to help with the meal.’ So, I’ve been brainstorming the menu.”
After a festive Christmas, King Charles will kick off the New Year with a menu crafted by Stanley. While the full details are still under wraps, it’s said to focus on “slow food and fashion,” featuring hearty dishes like roast pork, kale, and squash.
Stanley mentioned that the meal will highlight amazing British produce. He praised the King for his commitment to seasonal eating, saying, “Charles was into that way before anyone else. He was way ahead of his time.”
Though he’s an actor, Stanley is a passionate foodie. He often shares his culinary adventures on social media and even has a show called Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy, where he explores local dishes from Milan to Venice.
As for the cooking, that’ll be handled by renowned Calabrian chef Francesco Mazzei, one of the top Italian chefs in the UK. It’s a fitting way to ring in 2025, especially since the royal couple plans to visit Italy later that year after their Australia tour.
