Axel Rudakubana, 18, had a history of violent behavior during his school years
Southport: The tragic incident involving Axel Rudakubana has shocked the community. This 18-year-old was involved in a horrific stabbing that took the lives of three young girls during a dance class.
Rudakubana, who was just 17 at the time, had a troubling history. He was known to have shown violent behavior while in school, leading to his exclusion for an incident with a hockey stick.
He was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and had moved to a specialist school after leaving Range High School. Teachers there were also worried about his aggressive tendencies.
In court, it was revealed that he had been uncommunicative with his family and refused to engage with psychiatrists. His family has been cooperating with the police throughout the investigation.
During his court appearances, Rudakubana often covered his face with his sweatshirt and showed little emotion, even smiling at the press at one point.
His family background is also notable. His father, originally from Rwanda, moved to the UK in 2002. They lived in a quiet neighborhood in Banks, just outside Southport.
Interestingly, Rudakubana had a brief moment of fame as a child, appearing in a BBC Children In Need advert dressed as Doctor Who. It’s a stark contrast to the tragic events that unfolded later.
