Four counties in South Wales have made it to the top 10 best places to live in the UK for 2025
Cardiff: Four counties in South Wales have been highlighted as some of the best places to live in the UK for 2025. The Times recently released a list based on this year’s data, rather than relying on expert opinions.
They looked at various factors, like crime rates, education stats, NHS satisfaction, and even the number of parks with Green Flags. Each area was ranked based on these criteria, plus the average house price.
So, what are the top spots? Monmouthshire came in third, right behind Ceredigion and Powys. The average house price there is about £353,000, and NHS waiting times are around 22 weeks. Pretty decent, right?
Monmouthshire also has a rich history with 2,420 listed buildings and five Green Flag Awards for its parks. However, it’s worth noting that many other South Wales counties didn’t do so well on the list, with eight of the bottom nine being from the region.
Counties like Blaenau Gwent, Newport, and Cardiff found themselves at the lower end of the rankings. It’s a mixed bag for South Wales, but at least Monmouthshire is shining bright!
