Norwood: A tragic incident unfolded when a 21-year-old student named Leandro Titley was found dead in his room. His housemate, worried after he stopped replying to texts, climbed through the window to check on him.

Leandro, a UCL student living in Brent, had been struggling with mental health issues. He was autistic and identified as trans. Just days before, he had been raising funds for gender-affirming surgery.

His boyfriend reached out to the housemate early that morning when Leandro wasn’t responding. She found his room locked from the inside and had to climb in to get to him.

Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The last time anyone saw him was the day before when he declined an invitation to go out.

Just a few months prior, Leandro had been looking for a new housemate, specifically someone who identified as POC, queer, or genderqueer. He seemed to be seeking a supportive living environment.

The cause of death was deemed unexpected and non-suspicious. It’s a heartbreaking reminder of the importance of mental health awareness and support.

If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out for help. You matter.
