Slash shared a funny story about meeting Robbie Williams in LA, highlighting their Stoke-on-Trent roots and how they became friends.
Stoke-on-Trent: So, Slash recently shared a funny story about the first time he met Robbie Williams. Can you believe it? They bumped into each other in LA, far from their hometown.
Slash, whose real name is Saul Hudson, was born in London but moved to Stoke when he was just a baby. He spent his early years in Blurton before heading to LA with his family. When he met Robbie, he had no clue who he was!
He was chilling by the pool at the Sunset Marquis hotel when Robbie shouted, “You’re Slash! From Stoke! I’m from Stoke!” Slash was totally confused at first. But later that night, he ended up on stage with a covers band, and guess who was singing? Yep, it was Robbie!
Since then, these two have become great friends, bonding over their shared roots. Slash is a rock legend, and Robbie is a true hero from the Potteries. It’s pretty cool how they connected.
Slash is known for his iconic top hat, which he’s worn for decades. He once said it helps him feel more comfortable on stage. He actually got his first one on the day of a show with Guns N’ Roses. Talk about a lucky find!
It’s amazing how a chance encounter can lead to a lasting friendship, especially when you share a hometown. Who knew Stoke-on-Trent would bring together such rock royalty?
