A fire broke out at The Big Padlock Self Storage in Cardiff, prompting an investigation as crews battled the blaze and residents were warned to stay indoors.
Cardiff: Fire crews were back at it after a fire erupted at a self-storage unit. The incident happened at The Big Padlock Self Storage on Clydesmuir Road Industrial Estate on Monday afternoon.
Residents nearby were advised to keep their doors and windows shut while the firefighters worked to control the flames. The fire was reported just after 2 PM, and it took a while to get it under control.
Firefighters from various areas, including Cardiff Central and Ely, rushed to the scene with all their gear. They worked late into the night to ensure everything was safe. It was quite the scene!
Police were also on-site to help the fire crews. A spokesperson mentioned that they did a reinspection the next day and managed to cool down some hot spots.
As for what caused the fire, that’s still a mystery. Fire Investigation Officers are looking into it, but it might take a few days to figure out what really happened.
