A Shetland pony was rescued from a stream in Pembrokeshire by firefighters and the RSPCA, ensuring its safety and return to its owner.
Pembrokeshire: So, there was this little Shetland pony that got itself into a bit of a pickle. It was stuck in a stream, and the water was getting pretty high.
Firefighters from the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service got the call around 2:05 PM on a Monday. They rushed over to Merlin’s Bridge to help out.
When they got there, they saw the pony standing in the water, looking a bit confused but not panicking. Still, it was cold, and they knew they had to act fast.
A spokesperson from the fire service mentioned that the pony needed help because it wouldn’t last long in those chilly conditions without some intervention.
Luckily, the RSPCA was on hand too. The fire crew teamed up with them, using their special gear and skills to get the pony out safely.
After the rescue, they checked on the little guy, and he was doing just fine. They made sure he was safe and sound before taking him back to his owner.
By 3:25 PM, the rescue team wrapped things up and headed out, happy to have helped the pony get back home.
