A police officer has been placed on the sex offenders register after admitting to indecent communication charges in court
Greenock: So, there’s been quite a shocking turn of events involving a police officer. Peter Fleming, who’s 41, has been added to the sex offenders register after he pleaded guilty to some pretty serious charges.
He was in court recently, where he admitted to three counts of communicating indecently. The police said these offences were ‘non-recent,’ which sounds a bit concerning.
Right now, Fleming is suspended from his job, and the police are preparing a report for the Deputy Chief Constable. They’ll be looking into misconduct proceedings, which is definitely a big deal.
He’s set to be sentenced on February 26, and it seems like the police are taking this very seriously. Chief Superintendent Helen Harrison made it clear that his actions are way below the standards expected from someone in his position.
She also praised the victims for coming forward, acknowledging how tough it can be to report such incidents. It’s great to see that they’re being recognized for their bravery.
Harrison emphasized that indecent communication is unacceptable, no matter who you are. It’s good to know that the police are committed to maintaining high standards and will fully investigate these kinds of crimes.
