Plymouth: A teenager is using his barber training to help the homeless. Rocco Woodhouse, just 16, is cutting hair on the streets. He wants to practice and give back to the community.

Rocco is studying at City College Plymouth. He’s also learning barbering at Bowlers Hairdressing. He realized that practice is key to improving his skills. But he needed someone to trust him with their hair.

While cutting hair outside Tesco Express, Rocco shared his thoughts. He said he wanted to help others while getting practice. His friends and family weren’t ready to let him cut their hair yet.

Rocco met Nathan, a man who has been homeless for about three weeks. Nathan thought Rocco was joking at first. But Rocco was sincere and returned to give him a haircut. Nathan appreciated Rocco’s effort and said his hair looked good.

Pc Chantelle Wildman saw Rocco cutting hair during her patrol. She was impressed by his kindness and dedication. She noted that many people overlook the homeless, but Rocco was eager to help.

Rocco’s actions show a positive side of youth. It’s nice to see young people making a difference in their community.
