A Scottish medic has died in Ukraine, leaving his family heartbroken yet proud of his bravery and commitment to helping others
Ardnamurchan: A Scottish man serving as a medic in Ukraine has tragically lost his life. Jordan Maclachlan’s family confirmed the sad news. He volunteered to help after Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022.
The 26-year-old died on the frontline last Friday. His family shared their pride in his commitment, saying he always believed he was making a difference. They’re waiting for more details from the Foreign Office, as information is scarce.
Jordan was described as a fun-loving son, brother, and friend. His family will miss him dearly. A spokesperson from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office mentioned they are supporting his family and are in touch with local authorities.
Since the invasion, many Scots have traveled to Ukraine to help. Adam Ennis, another volunteer, was recognized as a hero after he joined the international legion. He left his job in Biggar to assist in the war effort.
Sadly, another medic, Jonathan Shenkin from Glasgow, also lost his life in December 2022 while serving in Ukraine. His family honored him as a hero who made the ultimate sacrifice.
