Edinburgh: A sad story unfolded when an 87-year-old woman was hit by a car. It happened on St John’s Road during the busy evening rush hour.

The woman was struck by a black Ford Fiesta around 5:45 PM on December 30. Emergency services quickly arrived, and she was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

Sadly, despite their efforts, she passed away on January 3. Thankfully, no one else was hurt in the accident.

Police closed the road to investigate the crash, reopening it early the next morning. Sergeant Paul Ewing expressed condolences to the family and asked for privacy during this tough time.

He also urged anyone who might have dash-cam footage from the area to come forward. Every bit of information could help piece together what happened.

It’s a heartbreaking reminder of how quickly things can change. Let’s keep the family in our thoughts.
