Ed Sheeran surprised students at a Cardiff school with a live performance, launching his foundation to support music education
Cardiff: You won’t believe what happened at Fitzalan High School! Ed Sheeran just strolled into their morning assembly, and the kids were totally shocked. Imagine being one of nearly 2,000 students when the pop star shows up to perform!
So, the assembly was going on, and everyone was told to expect a special guest. But when Ed walked in, jaws dropped! This surprise was part of launching the Ed Sheeran Foundation, which aims to boost music education for young people across the UK.
Before Ed arrived, the Welsh choir Only Boys Aloud was already singing. The headteacher, Mr. Adam Lear, said everyone thought they were the only special guests. Then, out of nowhere, he walked in with Ed! The excitement was off the charts, and Mr. Lear said the atmosphere was just incredible.
Before the assembly, Ed had already surprised 80 music students who were performing. Mr. Lear mentioned how their faces lit up when they saw him. During the assembly, Ed performed two songs, including “Shape of You,” and the students joined in for the chorus. He even had a Q&A session, inspiring everyone to chase their dreams.
Mr. Lear said it was a very special day, and the students were still buzzing afterward. They couldn’t believe that just last week, they were performing on that same stage, and now Ed Sheeran was there! The school is riding high on this amazing experience.
The Ed Sheeran Foundation is all about supporting music education in schools. They want every child to have the chance to express themselves through music and pursue a career in it. How cool is that?
