Beinash Batool, convicted of murdering Sara Sharif, now works in prison library and cooks for inmates
Woking: So, it turns out that Beinash Batool, the stepmom of Sara Sharif, has landed a pretty cushy gig in prison. While she’s waiting for her trial, she’s been given a job in the library at HMP Bronzefield. And get this—she’s also cooking for the other inmates!
Batool, who’s 30, was sentenced to 33 years after being found guilty of torturing and murdering 10-year-old Sara. The poor girl went through unimaginable suffering at home, and it’s just heartbreaking to think about. The court heard how she was beaten, burned, and restrained. It’s just awful.
Despite the serious charges against her, a former inmate said Batool got the library job almost right away. Apparently, it’s a sought-after position because it’s easy and only requires a few days of work each week. She even got to cook a special meal for her fellow prisoners during Eid. Can you believe that?
During the trial, the judge made it clear that Batool didn’t care enough about Sara to protect her. Her father, Urfan Sharif, got a 40-year sentence, and her uncle, Faisal Malik, was sentenced to 16 years for his role in the tragedy.
Libby Clark from the Crown Prosecution Service said Sara was a lively girl whose life was cut short by those who should have cared for her. It’s a tragic situation, and while the sentences can’t bring Sara back, they hope it brings some comfort to those who loved her.
Sara was found dead in her home after her father called the police from Pakistan, admitting he had beaten her. She had suffered numerous injuries, including broken bones and burns. It’s just so sad to think about what she went through.
Urfan Sharif had a history of violence against Sara, and even when she was in pain, he continued to hurt her. The abuse started when she moved in with them in 2019, and it just escalated from there. It’s heartbreaking to think that no one stepped in to help her, even when teachers noticed her injuries.
