A couple’s travel plans to celebrate a birthday were ruined by a minor passport error
Abriella, who’s 32 and uses a wheelchair, was ready to board, but her husband was stopped because of a small tear in his passport. Apparently, some glue had worn off, and that was enough for Ryanair to say no way.
They were really looking forward to the trip, but instead, they had to head back through the airport. It’s frustrating because when they talked to Border Force officials, they were told the passports were fine.
Ryanair insisted they did the right thing by refusing them travel. But Abriella and Sebastien are not happy about it. They checked in without any issues and even used the passport to exchange money at the airport.
It’s wild that they made it all the way to the gate before being turned away. The rules say a passport is considered damaged if it’s hard to read or has any rips, but they thought they were good to go.
They last traveled six years ago without a hitch, so this was a real shocker for them. It’s just a bummer when a small detail can ruin a whole trip, especially when you’re trying to celebrate something special.
