Cork: So, there was this Ryanair flight heading to Cork, right? Out of nowhere, the captain had to announce that they’d be slowing down because the runway at Cork Airport was closed. Talk about a surprise!

The runway shut down because of some nasty weather. It was during a Status Orange weather warning, and the crew only found out halfway through the flight. Can you imagine the tension in the cabin?

One passenger shared that it felt pretty uneasy watching the weather go downhill from the plane. Around 4:10 PM, they got the news that they’d have to divert to Dublin because the snow was piling up in Cork.

This flight, which left Birmingham at 2:25 PM, was just about to land when the captain had to slow things down. The runway was covered in heavy snow, and they had to make a quick decision.

One traveler said he was just chilling, listening to music, when his wife nudged him to pay attention. The captain’s announcement about the runway closure was a real wake-up call!

As they left the holding pattern in Cork, the plane had to climb again for the Dublin diversion. It was cloudy and a bit bumpy, and some folks even noticed ice forming on the windows. Yikes!

They finally landed in Dublin at 4:40 PM, where the weather was much milder. Now, the passenger and his wife, who were just trying to get home after the holidays, are left wondering how they’ll make it back to Cork.

He mentioned there was no panic, but everyone was curious about getting back, especially with the roads being so bad. The Ryanair crew assured them there would be a transfer to Cork from Dublin.

And when they announced the diversion, someone even joked, “Hooray, 3 hours to Cork!” which got a good laugh from the passengers.

This Birmingham flight wasn’t the only one affected; several others were diverted to Dublin too, including flights from Amsterdam, Malaga, and a few from London and Alicante. What a day for air travel!
