Wrexham’s new ticketing strategy has upset fans, forcing them to buy multiple tickets at once, just after the holiday season.
Instead of selling tickets one at a time, they’ve decided to sell them in blocks of three. This change came just before the new year, which has left many supporters feeling the pinch right after Christmas.
Previously, fans could buy tickets for home games individually, which helped them manage their budgets. Now, they have to shell out for three games at once, and that’s a big hit for families.
For example, a family of four could end up spending between £180 and £198 for those three matches. That’s a lot of cash to drop all at once!
Fans took to social media to voice their frustrations. One supporter, Gav, called it “another own goal by the club.” He pointed out how crazy it is to make fans pay so much right after the holidays.
Another fan, Scott, shared his disappointment, saying he and his daughter have been attending every home match. Now, with just two days’ notice, he’s looking at a hefty bill of nearly £100.
Others chimed in, suggesting the club should really consider the working-class fans who might struggle with this sudden change.
This isn’t the first time Wrexham has faced backlash over ticketing. They recently scrapped a £10 charge for a fan zone after fans complained about it.
Now, supporters are hoping Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney will step in and address this latest issue before it gets worse. They want to feel heard and valued, especially when it comes to ticket prices and loyalty schemes.
