Stoke-on-Trent: So, there was this wild incident at the Royal Stoke University Hospital. A guy named Daniel Lewsey, 27, made a bomb threat after being brought in by the police. He had called them saying he was going to jump off a bridge over the M6. Talk about a scene!

Once he got to the hospital, he told a staff member he had a bomb. Naturally, that led to a full evacuation of the A&E department. Thankfully, it turned out to be a hoax, and he was arrested pretty quickly.

In court, it came out that Lewsey had been drinking heavily—nine pints of cider, on top of his meds. He didn’t remember much but admitted he just wanted quicker help for his mental health issues. He ended up getting a suspended sentence, which means he won’t go to jail right now, but he has to do some community service and stay sober for a while.

The judge noted that Lewsey was struggling with his mental health and that this whole thing wasn’t planned out. It’s a pretty serious situation, but it sounds like he’s got a chance to turn things around without serving time. Let’s hope he gets the help he needs!
