Over 100 former Royal Marines took a chilly dip in Plymouth to honor a late comrade and raise funds for charity
Plymouth: This past weekend, a group of over 100 Royal Marine veterans took a chilly plunge into the sea. They did it to honor their late friend, Tim Crossin, who passed away just before Christmas.
Tim had wanted to do a charity dip to raise awareness for the Royal Marines Charity and others that helped him during his battle with cancer. So, his buddies decided to step in and make it happen.
Leading the charge into the cold water was Gary Hunter. He was excited about the event and said the weather was just perfect for it. It was all about remembering those affected by cancer and supporting the charities Tim cared about.
It was heartwarming to see so many people come together for such a good cause. Other similar dips are happening across the country this month, and they’ve already raised over £6,000 since the first swim kicked off in Dorset on January 1st.
