A car crash into an electricity pole has led to road closures and power outages in Dowlais, affecting local residents and traffic.
Dowlais: Early on New Year’s Day, a car smashed into an electricity pole, causing quite a mess. High Street has been shut down since around 4 AM, and it’s not looking good.
South Wales Police have blocked off the road in both directions, from Blaen Dowlais High Street to the A465 roundabout. The local council confirmed that the crash involved an electricity pole, which is a big deal.
They mentioned that National Grid is on the scene, working hard to restore power to homes affected by the crash. They also asked folks not to try and drive through the closure. It sounds like the road will be closed for most of the day, so it’s best to steer clear and use the A4060 or A465 instead.
