Peter Bradwick, a retired lecturer, receives an MBE for his dedication to woodturning and inspiring others in the craft
Cwmbran: A retired lecturer named Peter Bradwick has been making waves lately. He just received an MBE for his amazing work in woodturning. How cool is that?
Peter’s been getting calls from all over, even from folks in Australia and Italy, congratulating him on this honor. He’s a founding member of the Crow Valley Woodturners club in Cwmbran, where people can learn to turn wood into beautiful items like bowls and candlesticks.
Even though he’s retired, Peter hasn’t slowed down. He used to teach carpentry and joinery at Cardiff and Vale College until 2020. Now, he’s all about sharing his passion for woodturning with others, especially the younger generation.
He started the Crow Valley Woodturners group back in 2006, and they still meet every Thursday. New members are always welcome, so if you’re interested, you can join in on the fun!
Peter’s been married to his wife Susan for 20 years, and together they have four kids and seven grandkids. He’s a family man who loves what he does.
When he found out about the MBE, he was genuinely surprised. He said he doesn’t do this for the recognition, but it’s nice to be honored for something he’s so passionate about.
It’s great to see someone like Peter getting the recognition he deserves for his hard work and dedication to the craft!
