Prince Andrew Faces Police Report Over Alleged False Information

London: So, it looks like Prince Andrew is in a bit of hot water. He’s been reported to the police for allegedly using a fake name when he registered a company back in 2002. The company, Naples Gold Ltd, was set up under the name ‘Andrew Inverness.’ That name is a nod to his title, the Earl of Inverness, which his mom, Queen Elizabeth II, gave him when he married Sarah Ferguson.

Now, an anti-monarchy group called Republic is saying he might have provided false info to Companies House. If that’s true, he could be facing some serious consequences, like hefty fines or even jail time. It’s a big deal over there in England and Wales, where they take this stuff seriously.

This isn’t the first time Andrew’s had company troubles. Another one of his businesses, Urramoor Ltd, is also being dissolved. It was registered under the same ‘Andrew Inverness’ name, and the paperwork confirming its winding up was filed just recently.

Graham Smith, the head of Republic, has taken it a step further by filing a complaint with the Metropolitan Police about Naples Gold Ltd. He’s not holding back, saying the royals act like they can do whatever they want without consequences. He’s frustrated that there hasn’t been more action on serious allegations against them.

He pointed out that while filing false info might seem minor, it’s part of a bigger issue of fraud in the UK. He believes Andrew should be held to a higher standard, especially given the royal family’s status.

The Met is looking into the report, but Andrew’s team hasn’t said much yet. Meanwhile, it seems the public is curious about how he’s been funding his security team at Royal Lodge after his brother, King Charles, cut it off.

As for Urramoor, its activities are a bit of a mystery. It’s been called “the private investment office of HRH Duke of York” by another company it worked with. Interestingly, it got a cash boost of £210,000 recently, which helped keep it afloat before being dissolved.

A spokesperson for the Met said they received the report about the Companies House filing and are assessing it to see if any action is needed. Right now, there’s no investigation underway.
