Exciting news! The Pride of Scotland Awards introduces a new category to honor inspiring individuals and groups making a difference.
Glasgow: The countdown is on for this year’s Daily Record Pride of Scotland Awards, and there’s something new in store. They’re adding a fresh category called the P&O Cruises Inspiration Award for 2025.
For five years now, these awards have been all about celebrating everyday Scots who show kindness and bravery. It’s like a big shout-out to the unsung heroes among us.
Think of folks like Mila Sneddon, a schoolgirl who inspired the Princess of Wales with her fight against cancer, or Asif Iqbal, a dad who risked everything to save someone from a burning car. Scotland is full of these amazing stories.
This new award will honor someone who truly inspires others with their positive attitude and incredible journey through tough times. It’s all about recognizing those who make a real impact.
Nominees could be anyone who has shown extraordinary courage or made a significant difference in someone’s life. Just like Zac Gunn, the Child of Courage winner, who was praised by Gordon Ramsay as a “warrior.”
Paul Ludlow, the president of Carnival UK & P&O Cruises, expressed pride in partnering with the Pride of Scotland Awards. He believes these events shine a light on the remarkable achievements of everyday heroes.
The award will be presented at a gala in Glasgow later this year, hosted by Sanjeev Kohli and Elaine C Smith, with plenty of stars in attendance.
Sanjeev shared that every year, the first word that comes to mind when he thinks of the winners is “inspirational.” He’s sure this year will be just as amazing. Keep an eye out for the launch in tomorrow’s Daily Record, where you can find out how to nominate your own heroes!
