Gerwyn Price secures his spot in the 2025 Premier League Darts line-up after a strong showing at the World Championship
Cardiff: Gerwyn Price is back in the Premier League Darts for 2025, and it’s his eighth year in a row! He had a solid run at the World Championship, making it to the quarter-finals before losing to Chris Dobey.
At 39, Price faced some tough matches, beating Keane Barry, Joe Cullen, and Jonny Clayton before falling to Dobey 5-3 on New Year’s Day. It was a much-needed boost for him after a rough couple of years that saw him drop to world no.10.
Despite the ups and downs, he’s secured his place in the Premier League. The tournament kicks off at The SSE Arena in Belfast on February 6 and wraps up at The O2 in London on May 29. Price’s home match will be at the Utilita Arena in Cardiff on March 20.
Also joining him is 17-year-old Luke Littler, who just became the world champion by defeating Michael van Gerwen. Other top players like Luke Humphries, Van Gerwen, and Rob Cross will also be part of the action.
However, Price has been dealing with a frustrating ear issue that he described as a ‘nightmare.’ He mentioned that it’s been bothering him for years, and with his busy schedule, he hasn’t been able to get the help he needs. He feels like he’s swimming in water and has been taking antibiotics that aren’t doing much.
He’s used to the struggle, saying he’s had this problem for nearly a decade. Price is supposed to see a specialist, but with all the tournaments, it’s tough to find the time. For now, he’s focused on playing darts and making the most of his opportunities.
