Sutton Coldfield: So, there’s this incredible story about a woman named Natalie Queiroz. She was 36 weeks pregnant when her boyfriend attacked her with a knife. Can you believe that? It’s just horrifying.

Luckily, some brave folks nearby jumped in to help. They really saved her life and her baby’s life too. Natalie had to have emergency surgery, but thanks to those heroes, her daughter is now eight years old and thriving.

One of the first responders was PC Roy Beasley, a local officer who happened to be on patrol. He and the bystanders managed to detain the attacker and get Natalie the help she desperately needed. It’s amazing how people can come together in such scary situations.

Fast forward to now, and Natalie finally got to thank Roy after all these years. It was a surprise for him when she presented him with a retirement gift. They hadn’t really talked since that awful day, so it was a big moment for both of them.

Roy said it was one of the most impactful experiences of his career, and you can see why. Natalie is now a White Ribbon Champion, working to raise awareness about domestic abuse and knife crime. She’s using her story to help others, which is just so inspiring.

As for her boyfriend, he was sentenced to 18 years in prison for what he did. It’s a tough reminder of how serious these issues are, but it’s also a story of hope and resilience.
