A vehicle crash in Leicestershire has caused power outages and road closures, affecting local homes and traffic for hours.
Leicestershire: So, there was a bit of a mess this morning. A vehicle crashed into a telegraph pole, leaving some homes without power. The B587 road is closed for a while, and it’s causing a bit of a headache for drivers.
The police got the call around 7:40 AM. Thankfully, no one got hurt, but the pole took a hit, and now a cable is down. That’s why the power’s out for about 17 homes in the area.
By 11:15 AM, the police said National Grid was stepping in to handle the situation. They’re estimating the road might be closed for about six hours while they sort everything out. It’s a bit of a wait, but safety first, right?
The folks at National Grid are on it, working to fix the overhead line and get power back to those homes. They’re asking everyone to be patient while they make things safe again. It’s a hassle, but they’re doing their best to get things back to normal.
