A child sex offender has been caught breaching a court order multiple times, raising serious concerns for public safety
Swansea: So, there’s this guy, Adrian John Thomas, who’s really been pushing his luck. A judge called him ‘completely determined’ to break a court order meant to keep kids safe. He’s got a history, you know? Last month, he got three years in prison for ignoring a sexual harm prevention order.
Thomas, who’s 31 and doesn’t have a permanent address, was first given this order back in 2017 after a serious child sexual offence. Can you believe he’s breached it 15 times? That’s just wild.
He got out of prison in October 2023 and moved to a place in Swansea that was approved. But then, in January 2024, he moved in with his mom in Pembrokeshire. Instead of registering with the police, he claimed he had no fixed address, which is a big no-no.
Things got even messier when he took over his mom’s iPhone, even though she begged him not to. He set up social media accounts and everything, totally ignoring the rules of his order. His mom was left feeling really stressed out by all this.
When he went to court on December 19, he admitted to breaching the order and not following the notification rules. His excuse? He had nowhere else to stay except a tent. He said he felt bad about what he did and was trying to get help for his mental health.
The judge wasn’t having it, though. He pointed out how Thomas just keeps breaking the rules and lying about where he’s living. In the end, he got sentenced to three years in prison. It’s a tough situation, but safety comes first.
