Swalwell: Recently, there have been some alarming incidents in the area. Emergency services were called out to three alleged blade attacks in just three days.

The first incident took place on a Saturday night, where a man in his 20s got hurt on Coalway Lane North. Thankfully, his injuries weren’t life-threatening, but the attackers managed to escape before the police arrived.

Then, on Monday evening, the police were called back to the same spot. This time, a woman in her 40s was reported to have injuries similar to the previous case. Again, the offenders fled before help could get there.

Authorities believe these two incidents are connected, as those involved seem to know each other. A 28-year-old man was arrested but has since been released on bail.

On Sunday afternoon, police were called again after a group of young people got into a fight on Hexham Road. A 15-year-old boy ended up with a non-life-threatening arm injury and was taken to the hospital. A 14-year-old boy was arrested but also released on bail.

Police are working hard to keep the community safe and are asking anyone with information to reach out. They’re increasing patrols in the area to reassure residents. If you have any tips, you can contact them through social media or call 101.
