A serious incident has closed the A30 in Cornwall, with police advising drivers to steer clear of the area for safety.
Cornwall: This morning, police are dealing with a serious situation on the A30. The road is closed in both directions near Redruth, and they’ve set up a diversion.
Devon and Cornwall Police have assured everyone that there’s no risk to public safety. Still, they’re asking drivers to avoid the area if possible. National Highways mentioned that the closure might last a while.
At around 9:15 AM, the police updated the public, saying they’re handling a serious incident in the Illogan area. They reiterated that there’s no danger to the public and promised to share more info as soon as they can.
They also noted that the eastbound side of the A30 is closed, urging motorists to steer clear. Their investigations are ongoing, so it’s best to find an alternative route.
National Highways confirmed that the A30 is shut down in both directions between A3047 near Pool and A3047 near Redruth due to this police-led incident. They expect the situation to take some time to resolve.
