Gwent Police found a large cannabis farm in Newport, leading to an ongoing investigation after seizing around 2,000 plants and equipment
Newport: So, get this! Gwent Police just stumbled upon a huge cannabis farm right under a Travelodge in the city centre. They found it late Thursday night when they were called out for a motorcycle fire nearby. Can you believe it?
When the officers arrived, they caught a whiff of cannabis in the air. Curious, they checked out a disused building on Bridge Street and, wow, they discovered around 2,000 cannabis plants along with all the gear needed to grow them. Talk about a surprise!
Now, they’ve set up a cordon around the area while they’ve cut off the power to the building. It’s all part of their investigation, which is still ongoing. Sergeant Paul Turner mentioned that they’re working hard to find out who’s behind this operation.
They’re asking the public for help, too. If anyone has info, they can reach out to the police through their website or even send a message on social media. It’s all about cracking down on illegal drugs in Newport, and they’re serious about it!
