Kent: So, here’s the scoop. Police in Kent have nabbed someone after a power cut hit homes due to a stolen electricity cable. They reported that about eight meters of cable was taken from a generator belonging to UK Power Networks.

The whole thing went down on Shacklands Road in Shoreham around 4:50 PM on Tuesday, January 7. Officers got a tip about the cable theft and quickly followed a van they suspected was stolen.

This van didn’t get far. It pulled over in some farmland near Spade Lane in Hartlip, Sittingbourne. Three guys jumped out and tried to make a run for it, but the police were right on their tails.

They managed to catch one guy and even found a knife on him. Later searches turned up some cannabis growing gear, two weapons, and parts from a vehicle, according to the police.

Kent Police said the arrested man, who’s 39, is facing charges related to theft, weapons, drugs, and driving offenses. He’s been released on bail while they continue their investigation to track down two other suspects.

If anyone has info, they should reach out to the west Kent appeals line at 01622 604100 and mention reference number 46/3720/25. They’re also asking locals with CCTV or drivers with dashcams to check their footage from that time.
