A police aircraft circled Swansea for hours, assisting in a search operation for a missing woman after a vehicle overturned.
Swansea: Police explained why their aircraft was flying in circles. Many people noticed the National Police Air Service overhead all day.
The service said their UKP154 Vulcanair P.68R Victor was on a planned operation. Later, it stayed to help South Wales Police search for a woman who left an overturned vehicle.
NPAS stated the aircraft arrived at 2:20 PM for a pre-planned operation. It was in the air for about an hour and 20 minutes before continuing its mission.
At 6:40 PM, the crew was tasked to assist in the search. NPAS has four planes in its fleet, providing air support across England and Wales. These aircraft can stay airborne for up to eight hours, making them ideal for long operations.
